British Columbia, Canada IFG - International Financial Group Full time

Job Title: AI UX Designer Location: Remote (Canada) PST TIME ZONE PREFERRED Start date: ASAP (strong potential for extension) Candidate Requirements • Years of Experience Required: Ideally 5-7 years • Degrees or Certifications Required: No strict requirement; relevant design degrees (graphic, visual communication, human-centered design) are a plus but not mandatory if the portfolio is strong. • Disqualifiers: Candidates focused on highly creative, expressive, or illustrative design (e.g., portfolios full of illustrations or iconography) are not a fit; the role is systems- and utility-focused. • Best vs. Average: Best candidates have browser design experience and/or AI feature design experience, strong systems thinking, and can communicate their design rationale clearly. Someone who has worked on iteration in a small space would be great. Motion design experience is a bonus. • Performance Indicators: Success is measured by project delivery within timeframes, ability to work independently, effective participation in critiques, and strong communication of design decisions. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in product/service design for the web. • Strong interaction design skills grounded in user experience fundamentals, including accessibility and inclusive design. • Excellent visual/UI design skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication and presentation abilities. • Proficiency in Figma, including use of design system tokens and components. • Familiarity with industry AI assistants. • Ability to adapt quickly to new workflows, feedback, and evolving project needs. • Ability to work under constant deadline constraints. • Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively with other designers. • Portfolio for a review with the design lead. • Bachelor’s degree in design or related program. A combination of education and experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree. Preferred Qualifications • Experience creating and implementing motion design solutions—such as micro-interactions, transitions, sizzle reels, and animated prototypes—to enhance usability and bring enterprise features to life. Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience 1. Figma Expertise: Minimum 5 years; must be highly proficient, not just casual experience. 2. Design Systems Proficiency: Deep understanding of components, tokens, and contributing to design systems; ideally 5+ years. 3. Productivity/Browser/AI Feature Design: Experience designing for productivity software, browsers, or AI features is highly valued; direct browser experience is a top differentiator. Salary Range: The salary for this position is between CAD $120000 - $127000 annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
