Senior Director, Mergers and Acquisitions Join to apply for the Senior Director, Mergers and Acquisitions role at iA Financial Group (Industrial Alliance). Reporting directly to the Vice‑President of Corporate Development, you will play a strategic role in the growth of iA Financial Group. At the helm of mergers and acquisitions operations, you will be responsible for overseeing major transactions, supervising a team of analysts and coordinating all stakeholders, including the organization’s executives, to bring key initiatives for our corporate development to fruition. What You Will Accomplish With Us Oversee all aspects of the transaction process from start to finish. Participate in the identification and selection of acquisition targets. Develop, oversee and/or review financial modeling in support of transaction parameters. Supervise and coach a team of two senior analysts and one financial analyst. Coordinate a team of multidisciplinary experts during due diligence processes and facilitate interactions between corporate sponsors and experts. Manage external advisors such as legal, tax and/or financial advisors to optimize transaction results. Negotiate the terms of agreements supporting transactions with the other party’s key stakeholders on behalf of and in the best interest of iA Financial Group. Prepare the presentations required to obtain approvals from the company’s senior management and board of directors. Coordinate post‑acquisition activities (purchase price allocation, follow‑up agreements, integration projects). Work closely with the global integration management office to identify the benefits and costs supporting post‑closing integration plans. Ensure post‑closing monitoring of transaction success and prepare presentations of findings for the company’s senior management and board of directors. Participate in any other ad‑hoc assignments where mergers and acquisitions expertise can be leveraged (e.g., financing cases). Strong negotiation, communication, financial modeling and analytical skills. Strong analytical rigor and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under pressure and within tight deadlines. Strong political acumen, initiative and high degree of autonomy, while valuing teamwork and collaboration. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or actuarial science (master’s degree considered an asset). Professional designations such as FSA, CPA, CFA, EEE and/or FLMI (assets). Over 15 years of significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, including at least 5 years in the insurance and/or financial services sector. Highly motivated, performance‑oriented with a flexible work schedule to meet transaction demands. Fully proficient in both French and English (oral and written). Good knowledge of the financial services industry and iA Financial Group (asset).
