What You’ll Be Doing CIBC Innovation Banking provides strategic advice and funding to North American innovation clients at each stage of their business cycle, from start‑up to IPO and beyond. As an Associate or Director, Credit Solutions you will be responsible for all aspects of underwriting, managing and reporting on client accounts for private and growth‑equity backed technology companies across North America and Europe. You will deliver customized credit solutions to high‑growth businesses, monitor a portfolio of Innovation Banking loan accounts, analyze due diligence results, prepare credit applications, manage legal documentation, maintain client relationships, and develop business‑development skills with the originations team. How You’ll Succeed Client First – Proactively assess client needs, propose solutions, and support clients throughout the lending process. Credit Management – Prepare financing proposals, draft recommendations for senior management, conduct due diligence, and manage the underwriting process. Portfolio Management – Oversee loan accounts, ensure reporting requirements are met, perform covenant tests, and submit comprehensive credit reviews. Management Reporting – Provide insights on account performance, proactively report issues, and analyze borrower financial conditions. Coaching – Mentor junior team members. Who You Are Minimum of 6 years in technology lending, venture capital, commercial or corporate banking with strong loan structuring knowledge. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and complex capital structures. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Technology or related field. An advanced business degree or professional designation (MBA/CFA/CA/CGA/CMA) is an asset. Values alignment – trust, teamwork, and accountability, and authenticity in the workplace.
