Overview

We are currently seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our clients team at their head office in Castleisland, Co. Kerry. This is a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and submit electrical tenders with a keen eye for detail.
  2. Perform take-offs from tender drawings accurately.
  3. Attend site visits and client briefings.
  4. Review tender documentation provided by the client.
  5. Quantify materials, plant, and labor requirements for allocated projects with precision.
  6. Collaborate with the line manager to establish estimating processes, procedures, systems, and databases. Maintain the estimating system to ensure accurate labor norms and prime costs.
  7. Coordinate with the procurement manager and supply chain during the tender stage to ensure correct and competitive prime costs.
  8. Calculate preliminaries based on contract duration and requirements.
  9. Manage bid submissions and bid management through to the contract, including obtaining feedback on pricing.
  10. Provide monthly estimating reports to management.
  11. Offer value engineering options (VE) and associated costs, utilizing innovation and the supply chain to enhance tender value when appropriate.
  12. Represent the company at client meetings as required.
  13. Undertake additional duties as requested within the scope of the position.
Key Requirements:
  • Hold a degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or be trade qualified with relevant experience.
  • Preferably have experience in the Water/Wastewater sector or a similar industry.
  • Possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office systems.
  • Show an appetite for continuous learning and personal development.
  • Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in a relevant field.
