We’re proud of our work helping to expand and Canada’s infrastructure and transportation networks, and we’re ready to build the future of our country.We are currently looking for our next Project Controls Manager to join our civil east division to support our major infrastructure projects.Salary range: 140K - 160K.Project Controls Manager ResponsibilitiesProject Controls Systems & ToolsSet project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a business unit or Project Execution Plan, implementing tools and systems for earned value management, cash flow, cost, revenue, forecasting and schedule reporting.Guide project controls and operations teams to recognize emerging issues, leverage lessons learned, and drive toolset/process adoption, ensuring accurate key metrics and adherence to corporate guidelines.Collaborate with Estimating, Operations and Finance to develop methodologies that enhance accuracy of project-level financial forecasting.Project SetupAttend and contribute to Handover and Kick-Off meetings.Provide project controls input on commercial, administrative and reporting requirements during project setup.Collaborate with Estimating, Operations and Finance to ensure best practices are followed and project team requirements are set.SchedulingOversee scheduling functions to ensure projects meet standards and target completion dates.Manage the progression of the Schedule throughout the project life-cycle.Oversee contributions to the Baseline Schedule and administrative procedures relating to Schedule updates.Oversee all schedule analysis and forecasting reporting and contribute to change management scheduling activities.Progress & Cost TrackingConduct detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting, understanding and articulating key metrics and trending.Ensure management is provided with timeline review and progress of all projects and activity, including monthly project status report and forecasting reporting, endorsing suggested corrective actions.Ensure tracking and forecasting, progress monitoring and cost reporting meet specific project requirements.Review and approve all project controls reporting.Prepare and update project cash flows and forecasting throughout the project life-cycle.Scope & Change ManagementOversee and support project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolution.Risk ManagementIdentify commercial risks and develop mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverables.Identify opportunities for Project Controls improvement for management review and consideration.Develop, update and manage Risk Mitigation Plan.Collaborate on commercial Risk Identification and Assessment activities.People ManagementCreate and maintain a culture and environment that is open and respectful.Hire, supervise, coach, develop and mentor project controls personnel (i.e., Project Controls Specialist, Lead, Cost Controller, Planner / Scheduler).Communicate with Senior Leadership to ensure adequate resources are provided.CommunicationKey partner to Estimators, Project Managers, Operations teams and Senior Leadership.Communicate with external clients, client groups and partners, vendors and subcontractors as required.What You Bring To The TeamUndergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.10-15 years construction industry experience.Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost control.Strong knowledge of the “Earned Value Management” principles.Ability to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports.Natural leader and team builder who can build strong relationships quickly.Proven ability to effectively lead project controls staff.Proven strong analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues.Proven problem solver with sound judgment who accepts ownership and accountability.Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.Detail oriented and customer focused.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid.Diversity & InclusionAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
