Position Actuary/Actuarial Analyst Employment Type: Permanent Location: Hybrid work environment with in-office requirements; work from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from Community Hubs in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, or Vancouver. Compensation Actuarial Analysis 18: typically $94,664 to $126,219 annually, plus a performance-based incentive. Actuarial Analysis 19: typically $109,810 to $146,413 annually, plus a performance-based incentive. About EDC Export Development Canada (EDC) is a financial Crown corporation that helps Canadian businesses succeed globally by offering innovative financial solutions and expert insights to mitigate risks and support growth. What You Will Be Doing Lead or support the quantification of EDC’s insurance liabilities, financial performance, and capital for insurance contracts. Lead or support the development and maintenance of actuarial models for forecasting and stress testing of EDC’s insurance business. Lead or support model validation activities ensuring compliance with EDC’s Model Risk Management policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements using actuarial, statistical, and data science techniques. If a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), become the signing Valuation Actuary. What We Are Looking For Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics (or related field). Minimum Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA). Minimum 7 years of experience for Actuary (5 years for Actuarial Analyst) in actuarial analysis and risk management. Advanced knowledge of accounting (IFRS 17) and actuarial principles and practices. Demonstrated project leadership abilities. What Will Make You Stand Out Experience in the financial services sector or a financial Crown corporation environment. FCIA designation or active pursuit of it. Advanced skills in SAS tools (Viya, Visual Analytics). Bilingual in English and French. Eligibility Eligible to work in Canada (citizen or permanent resident preferred); ability to meet government security screening requirements.
