Position SummaryPOSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting both internal and external reporting, evaluating financial policies and controls and reconciling balance sheet and intercompany accounts. The role also involves conducting analytical reviews to deliver actionable insights to leadership, preparing accounting journal entries and allocations, contributing to monthly financial reporting and statement preparation and assisting with the year-end audit process.ResponsibilitiesTogether with the Finance team, coordinate and support the monthly financial statement preparation and reporting processPrepare analytical reports, including evaluating the general ledger activities and balances, and performing specialized analysis of financial dataResponsible for timely reporting required for the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, and to other external stakeholdersResponsible for the reconciliation of various balance sheet and intercompany accounts, and the preparation of related journalsParticipate in the year-end external audit of the Hospital\'s accounting systems and records, including the preparation of working papers and the processing of year-end journal entriesAssist in ensuring accounting controls and practices used are in compliance with internal policies, Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) guidelines, and Public Sector Accounting StandardsAssist in reviewing and updating financial policies, procedures and controlsProvide financial accounting knowledge and expertise as needed, including recommending process improvements where necessaryProvide advice and guidance to departments in support of hospital related accounting policies, processes and practicesSupport Financial Systems projects and help strengthen the effectiveness of the business processes and controls, thereby contributing to the overall success of the initiativesAd hoc assignments as requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance is requiredProfessional membership with Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and/or Advanced Business Degree is required7 to 9 years previous relevant experienceAdvanced level Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPointStrong accounting knowledge, finance and analytical skills requiredExperience in analyzing financial and related data to identify trends and relationshipsProven ability to problem-solve and manage projects, specifically with processes and system integrations is preferredExperienced in performing financial statement analysisAbility to work within changing and tight timelinesExcellent communications skillsStrong interpersonal skills coupled with a desire and ability to be an effective team playerExperience and understanding of Ministry of Health and/or Ontario Health regulations and reporting requirements (including OHRS guidelines) is preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
