Business Conversion Lead

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a highly experienced Business Conversion Lead to support a leading bank downtown Toronto with a major insurance general ledger and reporting system conversion. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in UAT leadership, financial reconciliation, ERP/ledger data conversion, and insurance accounting. The focus is on S/4HANA Insurance, Kyvos, and SmartView reconciliation activities, as well as driving UAT strategy, execution, issue management, and business stakeholder engagement. This role requires a strong self-starter who can independently structure, run, and lead the business-side conversion program. Responsibilities S/4 Insurance Data Reconciliation (Core Focus) Execute monthly reconciliations of S/4 Insurance data back to source systems during: Simulation cycles (while source system data is being processed inbound to S/4) Parallel processing cycles (users are executing future state processes and reporting) Cutover weekend for go live (company conversion) Identify data mismatches and work with: Business teams Master data team Data acquisition team to resolve discrepancies and update mapping logic. Lead UAT Strategy & Execution Develop and own the UAT strategy, test plan, and end-to-end execution roadmap. Create test cases, acceptance criteria, and entry/exit criteria. Manage UAT cycles across simulation, parallel and cutover phases. Facilitate daily standups, defect triage meetings, and progress updates. Use Jira and Confluence to track issues, progress, documentation, and resolutions. Ensure defects are clearly documented, prioritized, retested, and closed. Kyvos / SmartView Parallel Reporting Support Support a 3 month end-user reporting parallel as the business transitions from SmartView (Essbase) to Kyvos. Reconcile Kyvos reporting output to: S/4 Insurance Existing SmartView cubes Investigate issues identified by users: Data mismatches Hierarchy or master data issues Reporting format inconsistencies Provide clear documentation and articulate findings back to users to maintain confidence. Stakeholder Management & Meeting Leadership Set up and run user status meetings, track issues, assign owners, and follow through to closure. Communicate risks, progress, and readiness to business leaders. Serve as the bridge between business, data, and technology teams. Documentation & Process Governance Maintain detailed documentation in Confluence for issues, decisions, and testing evidence. Support business readiness activities leading into cutover/go live. Ensure data lineage, mapping, and reconciliation logic are fully traceable. Problem Solving & Investigation Perform hands-on data investigation using: Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, data transformations) SAP S/4 reporting queries (nice to have) OLAP tools (SmartView or Kyvos) Troubleshoot data quality problems and recommend corrective actions. Skills and Requirements 10+ years experience in finance systems, ERP projects, or insurance accounting transformations. Hands-on leadership in UAT strategy, planning, and execution. Strong experience with financial statement reconciliation (Income Statement & Balance Sheet). Experience with ledger / ERP data conversions. Strong knowledge of insurance accounting (Life insurance most relevant). IFRS 17 exposure is a strong asset. Ability to run meetings, manage stakeholders, and close issues end-to-end. Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation analysis). Experience with Jira (defect management, testing) and Confluence (documentation). Strong communication and collaboration skills. Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Self-starter and independent – proven ability to set up a program and run it. Detail-oriented. Experience with SmartView and/or Kyvos (big plus; Kyvos is the new tool). Experience with S/4HANA Insurance (SFGR experience is critical). Experience with Accounting 4 ledger (nice to have, not essential). Experience writing SAP S/4 queries. Familiarity with OLAP reporting environments. Insurance domain expertise (life insurance preferred but not required).
