The Duty Manager is responsible for leading multiple teams to success and ensuring a safe and exceptional experience for all mountain guests.Essential Job FunctionsDirect, oversee, and manage daily mountain operationsEnsure an exceptional and safe guest experience for all mountain guests and staffComplete daily operational tasks in a timely mannerUphold and enforce company policies and procedures and implement new processesWork with HR and Administrative Support in hiring, training, coaching & scheduling staffTrain staff including department & job orientation, job specific training, guest service and health & safety trainingConduct and record daily team meetingsHelp foster a positive working environment for all workers and check in regularly to ensure employee satisfactionFacilitate team communication through one-on-one interaction and other established forms of departmental communicationConduct incident and accident investigations as a part of the Risk Management teamPerform site inspections of property, facilities, equipment, and work practicesEnsure all injury and accident reports are completed and follow up paperwork is completed correctly and at acceptable timeConduct investigations as a result of accidents and/or injuries involving company facilities and/or equipment, staff, and guests.Ensure timely opening and closing of all outdoor facilitiesWork as a liaison between the Operations Department and other Departments for the smooth execution of all company related operationsLiaising with emergency agenciesLiaison with film agencies.Manage line control for all parts of the outside operations, including but not limited to trams and liftsOversee overall day to day management of Mountain Operations including: Lift Operations, Terrain Parks, snow removal, transport, dispatch, grooming, winter attractions, patrol.Perform other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilityProvide direct supervision to the following positions: Lift Operator, Bike Park Crew, Mountain Crew, Transport, Winter Attractions Crew, Snow Shovel Crew, Line Control, Groomer, Equipment Operator, Summer Attractions Team Lead, Lift Operations Team Lead, Lift Operations Supervisors, and Mountain Crew Supervisor.Required Qualifications and Abilities2 years of supervision of a team larger than 10 people preferredRisk Management and Incident Investigation experience an assetValid class 5 driver’s licenseProficient skier or snowboarder requiredExperience in four season resort supervision or management an assetSnowmobile and off road vehicle experience an assetHands-on leader with a proven track record of superior guest satisfactionCompetentadministrative and computer skills, e.g. POS, MS OfficeHigh energy and strong work ethicAbility to work shift work including early mornings and late afternoon shiftsWorking ConditionsDuty Managers perform most of their duties outdoors and may work in all kinds of weather conditions. This Duty Manager role is a Part Time position, working an average of 20 hours a week, with rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
