OverviewThe Fraser Health Authority (FHA) is seeking two qualified 1.0 FTE pediatricians to join the medical staff at the Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) to provide urgent pediatric services. The pediatrician group works 08:00 – 17:00 and collaborates with Obstetricians and Emergency personnel. RCH has approximately 3,100 births per year and a Level 3 nursery. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a practice in the area and may participate in FHA subspecialty clinics. The program involves close collaboration with surrounding hospitals and a formal partnership with the pediatric tertiary referral centre at BC Children’s Hospital and other local institutions. There is rapid population growth with family housing driving ongoing recruitment and service expansions to the program. Additionally, as a Fraser Health medical staff member, the successful applicant will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Pediatrics, UBC.ResponsibilitiesProvide urgent pediatric services at Royal Columbian Hospital.Establish a pediatric practice in the local area.Possibly participate in Fraser Health subspecialty clinics.Collaborate with surrounding hospitals to ensure access to pediatric inpatient services for children and youth in nearby areas.Engage with local and provincial partnerships, including BC Children’s Hospital and other local hospitals.Contribute to medical education by participating in the UBC medical education program and pursue clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Pediatrics, UBC.QualificationsCMPA | CPSBC eligible | FRCPC eligibleNRP, PALSPlease submit a CV, letter of interest, and three letters of reference or contact referees’ names.Application & About Fraser HealthFraser Health is the heart of health care for over two million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations.
