Job Description FYidoctors clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as our newest Optical Associate. This position is a full‑time fixed‑term role working 30‑40 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday and the term is through to approximately March 2027. We welcome candidates with strong retail customer service experience who are ready to help us make an impact on the lives of our patients every day. You will play a critical role within FYidoctors and are crucial to our success by delivering world‑class service to our patients. You'll often be the first point of contact with the public, so you must bring your passion for people and your drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience. What Will You Be Doing? Welcoming patients into the clinic and providing excellent customer service to foster a positive experience. Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality. Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions and assisting with the selection of frames to suit their aesthetic and performance needs. Interpreting optical prescriptions written by an optometrist. Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear, and repairing and adjusting returning patients’ frames. Placing contact‑lens orders and assisting with fittings. Communicating with patients in person, by phone, and by email. Billing the patient, their medical service provider, and other third parties. Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts, and billing and payments. What Do You Bring? Previous experience in a customer‑facing, preferably retail environment. Previous optical experience is considered an asset. Passion for customer service. A high level of comfort using technology and computers. A great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
