Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and in executing various projects in the mining and metals, and energy sectors. BBA's mechanical engineering teams stand out among Côte-Nord clients because of their cutting-edge technical expertise, combined with an unrivalled commitment and understanding of the issues involved in operating and maintaining industrial mechanical equipment.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in engineering activities, in selecting technology and in executing projects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors.Help identify business opportunities with clients; draft winning proposals.Play an essentially technical and project management role in the mandates assigned.Contribute to the firm’s business development by maintaining business relationships with clients.Lead and participate in designing plans, specifications and details based on guidelines from a senior engineer.Perform design calculations and ensure plans meet guidelines, codes and other regulations.Prepare material lists and bills of lading in accordance with codes and the quality system requirements.Provide recommendations on establishing standards and practical applications.Coordinate the work of drafters or other team members; assign and review the work of less experienced engineers, technicians and support staff.Ensure work complies with budgets, schedules, estimates and procedures.Plan, organize, lead and coordinate projects.Perform technical information surveys; assist with commissioning and troubleshooting systems.Draft proposals in collaboration with the team.QualificationsUniversity degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in heavy industrial projects.Available for short-term work assignments between Sept-Îles and our Labrador City office, depending on business needs.ASP Construction card.Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel) and other applications, databases and interfaces.Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Navisworks.Advanced level of English to collaborate with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec.Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.).Asset: knowledge of SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, ANSYS and Fathom.Benefits and RewardsAnnual base salary established with a 37.5-hour week; annual premium program for regular employees.Onsite mobility premium; access to a time bank; cellphone program.Group insurance plan starting on Day 1 (short-term and long-term disability, telemedicine).Retirement savings plan; vacation and sick leave; Employee Referral program.Access to a network of experts, coaching, custom training and development plans.About BBAFor over 40 years, we’ve been pushing the boundaries of engineering to serve our clients in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
