Veterinary Technician Practicum

Join NVA Canada’s Veterinary Technician Practicum Program. It offers final‑year veterinary technician students hands‑on experience with experienced veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) in a supportive, dynamic environment. You’ll develop clinical skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology and more while enhancing communication abilities with medical teams and clients. Practicums range from two to eight weeks to fit your schedule and career goals. Program Eligibility Enrolled in an accredited veterinary technician program in Canada.Completing your final practicum in the final year of your program. Responsibilities Assist with patient care, including medical history, examinations, and post‑operative care.Perform laboratory procedures such as sample collection, analysis, and interpretation.Assist in anesthesia administration and monitoring.Assist in surgical procedures and post‑operative management.Support radiology procedures, including image acquisition and basic interpretation.Communicate effectively with veterinary staff and clients.
