Orthopedic Hip & Knee Surgeon (PRA-SP applicants may be considered) Location: Concordia Hospital – Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S8, Canada (Primary) Position Overview The Concordia Joint Replacement Group (CJRG) at Concordia Hospital, the Concordia Hip and Knee Institute, the University of Manitoba Department of Surgery, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Shared Health Manitoba seeks a full‑time hip and knee adult reconstruction arthroplasty surgeon to support the expansion of an academic clinical and research program. Starting date: July 1 2026 (potentially negotiable). Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and ambulatory patient care for hip and knee arthroplasty procedures. Participate in 1‑in‑12 general orthopaedic call schedule and 1‑in‑7 hip and knee arthroplasty‑specific call schedule. Attend elective clinic and operating room time as scheduled. Teach medical students, orthopaedic residents, and arthroplasty fellows affiliated with the University of Manitoba. Engage in research activities and help lead specific projects. Collaborate within a cohesive group of four subspecialty‑trained academic surgeons. Qualifications Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Completed at least one year of fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty. Comfortable with community‑level musculoskeletal trauma management. Preferably holds an advanced degree supporting research and/or education. Academic & Research Expectations Position includes appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher based on current academic rank) in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine. The CJRG performs 3,000 joint replacements annually and is a high‑volume arthroplasty group. The research budget ranges from $400,000 to $700,000 per year and includes industry, academic and government grants. The successful candidate will participate in and lead research projects, collaborate with clinical study coordinators, mechanical and biomedical engineers, and contribute to grants and contract research.
