The potential for further advancement within the organization exists for the successful applicant. POSITION SUMMARY: The service department is a critical area for the Company. The service department must support sales and other activities as well as respond to various client and customer requirements. The Department needs to prioritize response to varying demands and adapt to continuous change. The Service Technician must ensure that the highest levels of quality are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Service Technician will report to the Service Coordinator. This role is focused on our services relating to the aviation industry. RESPONSIBILITIES Represent the Company in all Service Department related matters Be familiar with all technological aspects relating to service Automated Weather Observation Systems (AWOS) Networking/LAN Software solutions, configuration, integration Continuous training to learn new products and product features Provide exceptional support/prioritization in all internal and external related IT matters including, but not limited to: Identify customer requirements (i.e. software solutions, configuration, etc.) Complete installation process, including the processing of all installation related documentation Maintain network, server, and computer device functionality and necessary upkeep/updating Customer Service Deal with both internal and external customers with a friendly and helpful demeanor Maintain continuous relations with primary clients Assess customer needs (prioritize) Recommend solutions Public relations Ensure both on-site and in-shop work are completed in a timely manner Schedule in-shop and field service work Duties: Shop installs (support) Field service Bench repair System design integration and installation Maintain work area and service area cleanliness Continually apply safe work practices SCHEDULE Typically, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm One hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks provided each day SALARY RANGE $23-30 per hour REQUIREMENTS Education: Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or Instrumentation Technician a definite asset but not required Experience: Installation and servicing relating to electronic equipment Previous bench technician experience Experience in the aviation industry an asset Skills: Resourceful Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision Good organizational skills and record keeping Teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills Equipment Used: Electronic Service Equipment Computer terminals Ladders Drills Hand-tools PPE and other Safety Equipment Typical Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time Some work in confined spaces Climbing and lifting Typical Mental Demands: Working in high places (communication towers and rooftops), dexterity, basic mathematic calculations, system design, analytical skills and problem solving Working Conditions: Work in a Team environment May involve work in the evenings and on weekends #J-18808-Ljbffr
