Join us today and make a difference Job Description The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre located in Montreal, Quebec. It is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS). Position Summary The Research Associate reports to the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Alexandre Lehmann, a cognitive neuroscientist, Associate Professor at McGill University, Adjunct Professor at Université de Montréal, and principal investigator of the Centre for Research on Brain Language and Music (CRBLM) and the MUHC‑RI Brain Repair & Integrative Neuroscience Program. The incumbent will be involved in the development and implementation of research studies, writing reports, academic papers, grant applications, presentations, and other administrative tasks. General Duties Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, actively participate in the execution of the research projects ongoing in the laboratory. Responsible for various administrative tasks (including budgets, management of meetings and focus groups, minute‑taking, and grant/protocol writing). Support and supervise members of the lab with their research projects. Provide training to new recruits, students and staff. Establish research methods, design protocols, advance research and break new grounds. Troubleshoot research issues and resolve problems in design. Develop models and run simulations. Review and evaluate research findings, determine results, prepare reports and manuscripts. Participate in local, national and international collaborations. Participate in group meetings and in the general day‑to‑day management of Dr. Lehmann's research projects. Accomplish any other related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor. Education / Experience Education: Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Neuroscience. Work Experience: ≥ 5 years post‑doctoral or equivalent research experience. Required Skills Expertise in signal processing, data mining, machine learning, MATLAB, Python, data analysis, statistics, psychoacoustics, and biomedical signals acquisition. Expertise in audiology or speech & language pathology. Familiarity with TCPS 2 (ethical conduct for research involving humans). Prior experience as a post‑doctoral researcher, research assistant, or research associate. Work experience in a hospital setting (experience with OACIS, Nagano, etc.). Experience in project coordination and management. Experience in data analysis and statistics. Solid experience in scientific writing (peer‑review publications and grant applications). Team player, excellent organizational skills, rigor. Autonomy; ability to work with minimum supervision. Problem‑solving skills. Excellent French and English, spoken and written. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision. Additional Information Status: Temporary, full‑time (35‑hour workweek). Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $54,327.00 – $100,882.60. Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie.
