We design sophisticated tax planning and compensation strategies to help such companies and their employees manage their tax liabilities and other expenses of operating in the global business environment.As a Specialist, working with the Managers and Partners you will be instrumental in delivering Canadian and US tax compliance and advisory services. But that’s not all. You will be responsible for a variety of technical, project management, administrative, and support functions with regards to the management of our clients’ expatriate tax programs. The ideal candidate enjoys continuous learning and working in a team to deliver exceptional client service.Our team is open to speaking with candidates located across British Columbia. We offer flexible remote and hybrid work arrangements.What You Will DoBecome part of a tax engagement team in meeting the tax compliance needs of clientsPrepare working paper files for income tax returns for personal tax clientsReview Canadian and US personal tax returnsRun taxpayer arrival and departure tax consultationsManage client information gathering to ensure accurate and timely completion of returns and schedulesFollow-up with tax authorities on noticesProvide support to team members in related tasksTax and Payroll ResearchAt times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need extra time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.What You Bring To The RoleMinimum 3 years’ experience in Canadian and/or US tax compliance for individualsBachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related fieldExcellent people management skillsHighly motivated individual with a desire for growthDedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism in the performance of dutiesEmphasis on quality and adds value to their client offerings and servicesStrong analytical, project management and organizational skillsExcellent computer skills - Excel experience is requiredEffectively manages conflicting demands and prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills allowing effective interaction with staff and clientsAble to instill enthusiasm in others to achieve desired resultsAble to provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questionsCanadian or US accounting designation or professional licensing a definite asset but it is not requiredKPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $99,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
