You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects across the country while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior client experience. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.ResponsibilitiesWhat your day will look likeProject Management & DesignPreliminary design, detailed design and expertise in the assessment of treatment processes for water and wastewater treatment systems, water supply and wastewater collection infrastructure.Supporting project managers with the coordination of design team activities, direction to project team members including engineers and technical support staff, and ongoing support to client relationship managers.Project management initially of small sized infrastructure projects, leading to larger assignments following demonstrated proficiency.Liaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, sub-consultants and subcontractors.Liaise with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists and technical support staff).Business DevelopmentPrepare project proposals and contribution to client relationships and business development activities.Identify and develop new business opportunities with private sector clients.Maintain existing client relationships and development of new client relationships including preparation of project proposals.Business travel to other Dillon offices or project locations upon request.Learning & DevelopmentA commitment to self-development and ongoing learning andprofessionaldevelopment.Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.Contribution to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation inprofessionalassociations and committees.QualificationsWhat you will need to succeedA degree in environmental, civil, mechanical or chemical engineering.Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Nova Scotia, or eligible to be licensed within six months.4-8 years of relevant work experience in the market.An intense motivation for personal and professional growth.An ambition to be part of a growing enterprise, focused on technical excellence and superior client service.A deep desire to help and guide our clients on their path to success.Valid Driver’s license.ExperienceExperienced in the assessment, design and construction of treatment processes for small and large-scale water and/or wastewater facilities.Proficient in the full range of design activities including preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings and reports, contract document preparation and tendering.Experience with industrial site water and wastewater management is an asset including characterization (water balance, flow and quality), water conservation, water reuse, wastewater segregation, and pollution prevention planning.Knowledge and experience working within Municipal, Provincial, and Federal regulations and guidelines relating to water and wastewater treatment design and operationsExposure to project management skills, either through on the job experience or formal training.Proven abilities in multidisciplinary teamwork, client and industry relationships, and regulatory agency consultation.Familiarity with contract administration services and requirements.Working knowledge of emerging technologies for water and wastewater treatment.Proficient in project proposal preparation and presentations.Why choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
