The Laboratory Technologist student is responsible for aiding in the daily running of the on-site Lab. They must be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The individual needs to prioritize tasks and strongly understand Oil and Gas Analysis.The successful candidate of this role will be required to live in Rainbow Lake; company housing will be provided. Additionally, the candidate will work a 4-3 shift.Note: The application deadline for this position is January 20th at 11:59 PM (MST). What you’ll doAssist in acquiring Plant and Field Samples for analysis.Maintain Laboratory equipment, files, data, procedures, and techniques, and update as necessary.Provide support in Reports, Data Analysis and Information for Engineering Staff.Prioritize and handle high sample volumes and multitask different analyses. Who you areOur ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).Available to begin work in May 2026.Prioritizes safety while working efficiently.Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.A strong understanding of Oil and Gas analysis.Experienced with Microsoft Office 365.We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement. EducationMust be enrolled in a Chemical Engineering Technology, Petroleum Engineering Technology, or Laboratory Technology Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities. Working ConditionsMay include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc. Safety SensitiveThis may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent driver’s abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position.
