What you will do: Owned and leased property Regulatory and legislated matters and compliance Trademarks Licensing process and compliance Contract negotiation, review and ongoing compliance Work with HR on policies, procedures, health and safety and employee relations issues Deployment of new regulatory and legislative matters Best practice on data security, including SOC II and privacy, and adherence to changing legal requirements Business continuity management Privacy officer Compliance officer Management of the whistleblower channel Annual business risk assessment process and ongoing reporting Maintaining and Managing the Group P&C Insurance Coverage matters: Policy renewal Claims E & O reporting and oversight Due diligence and M&A activities as required. What you will bring: You’re a certified professional. The successful candidate must have been called to the Bar in Ontario. Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience (law firm or in-house). Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems. Highly focused with attention to detail and ability to collaborate well with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a practical solution‑oriented approach. Demonstrated superior skill in legal drafting, including agreements and contracts. Superior organizational and time‑management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and requests.
