The Opportunity Reporting to the Vice-President (Administration & Finance), the Director, Integrated Planning & Effectiveness (IP&E) is a strategic leader responsible for advancing financial sustainability and institutional effectiveness. This is a new position, offering the unique opportunity to shape the role and build a high-performing team from the ground up. The Director will lead integrated planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement to ensure informed decision-making and optimal resource allocation. This role will champion modernization initiatives, embed transparency and accountability, and drive digital transformation in financial planning. Key Responsibilities Include: Lead development of preliminary and final budget packages, managing all phases of the operating and capital budgeting cycle through to final approval. Oversee quarterly financial forecasting, coordinating input from cross-functional teams and presenting consolidated results to senior leadership. Align financial planning processes with institutional strategic priorities, including academic and capital planning. Prepare and deliver internal and external financial reports, including monthly and quarterly variance analyses. Develop and maintain institutional dashboards and performance metrics to support data-informed decision-making. Provide leadership and support for financial sustainability efforts, including the development of sustainability metrics and models to monitor long-term financial health. Serve as a staff resource to Committees of the Board and present quarterly (or ad hoc) financial reporting and analysis for the Board and other stakeholders. Establish and grow the IP&E team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Drive process efficiencies, automation, and digital transformation in planning and reporting. Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to align financial planning with strategic priorities. Ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and best practices in financial governance. Selection Criteria Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA designation preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, with supervisory experience. Strong leadership and team development skills; proven ability to build trust-based relationships. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Experience with process improvement, digital transformation, and change management. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail. $125,779 (MPO-VII). Application Deadline: January 12, 2026.
