Youth Program Facilitator

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 3 POSITION TYPE: PERMANENT, FULL-TIME THE ROLE: The Program Facilitator is a front-line supervisory position responsible for creating the clubs’ monthly activity calendar in partnership with front-line staff, leading activities for children and youth aged 6-18, overseeing program budgets and supply acquisitions, preparing snacks and meals, building positive relationships with youth, supervising Activity Workers and volunteers, promoting a safe environment, and managing incidents and sensitive issues. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and youth, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is skilled in planning engaging programs. They should be confident in leading activities for both small and large groups, possess strong group and behavior management skills, and have leadership and supervisory experience to build team confidence, foster an inclusive environment, and make sound decisions under pressure. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience working with children aged 6-18. Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and listening skills. Experience in planning and leading youth programs and activities. Understanding of youth development, trauma impact, and community resources. Experience working with diverse backgrounds and abilities. Strong behavior and group management skills. Commitment to truth and reconciliation, social justice, and EDI. Experience managing program budgets and petty cash. Must hold and maintain a Class 5F Manitoba Driver’s License with a clear Driver’s Abstract. Reliable vehicle access. Ability to provide a recent police record check with vulnerable sector search (PVSC) and child abuse registry checks. Willingness to obtain a Class 4 driver’s license within 3 months of employment. ASSETS: Post-secondary education in Education, Child and Youth Care, or related field. Valid Class 4 professional driver’s license. Current Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification.
