Community DescriptionWilliams Lake is in BC’s Central Interior Region (Cariboo Chilcotin Region) and is famous for the annual Williams Lake Stampede. The town has a population of approximately 35,000, with the surrounding Cariboo Regional District adding to a total of 62,000. A vast array of lakes, rivers, hiking and biking trails, and winter sports options make Williams Lake an attractive place for outdoor enthusiasts. The community offers a blend of cultural activities, dining, and a supportive rural environment.Healthcare FacilityCariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) is currently under renovation, with planned completion in 2026. The redevelopment will add 25 in‑patient beds for a total of 53, a new emergency department, mental‑health unit, cancer department, and a dedicated maternity clinic. CMH presently operates as a Level 2 community hospital with 28 inpatient beds, an ER, OR, Med‑Surg, Cardiology, Obstetrical units, laboratory and imaging services, and an outpatient hemodialysis unit. Deni House, adjacent to CMH, is a residential facility offering private and shared rooms for short stay, palliative, and long‑term care.Position: Rural Family Practice PhysicianWe invite you to practice rural family medicine in our new Primary Care Hub (“PCH”), which will house a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals (mental‑health substance use clinician, dietician, respiratory therapist, clinical pharmacist, occupational therapist, registered nurse). Your clinical work may include maternity, long‑term care, oncology, palliative care, emergency, and other areas, supported by local surgeons, obstetricians, pediatricians, internists, and psychiatrists.
