This includes the development, review, and maintenance of database scripts, custom reports, data extracts, and ongoing optimization of databases and applications to ensure the highest level of database and application performance.As part of the Development organization, the Senior Database Developer is responsible for the ongoing programming in connection with our various DB’s, services, and applications; and assisting with the development and testing of new systems, features, and services. This will include complying with the standards that are set by the team and company in terms of development styles, methodologies and processes.Your job:Monitor and maintain all internal Microsoft SQL databasesPerform routine archiving, security, and auditing related tasks, according to applicable policies and proceduresSupport client database functions, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) servicesWork as part of an agile development team to Architect, deploy and maintain SQL services for enterprise servicesCollaborate with QA in development of test cases for SQL ServicesProvide management reports, customer reports, and data extractsConduct research, analysis, and profiling to develop methods to improve database performance, functionality, and availabilityPlan, communicate, execute, and document database related maintenance and upgradesAssist with space management initiatives and database migration projectsSupport audit and security processes including access control and user managementEnsure staging and production environments are running smoothlyAbout you:Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration, development, and supportExperience in WindowsExperience in Microsoft SQL 2012/ 2016 /2019Proven ability to solve technically complex, multi-faceted problems; strong analytical skillsExperience in high-level systems analysis, measurement, queuing theory and capacity analysisSelf-motivated and curious – an ability to understand how complex systems work.Experience in database architecture modeling, design, and implementationExpert knowledge in database performance tuning and query optimizationAbility to work with agile teams to support dynamic and high-availability environmentsStrong knowledge of database backups/restores, clustering, mirroring, and replicationExperience in documentation and presentation of technical tasks and implementation plansThorough knowledge of database design and optimizationExcellent technical troubleshooting and issue documentation skillsExcellent written and oral communication, problem solving, and organization skillsStrong initiative and ability to work under minimal supervisionExcellent ability to work in a collaborative team environmentAble to meet project schedules and quality standardsAble to balance priorities and work under pressureAbility to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-tech environmentCompensation:Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive extended health benefits program, including virtual healthcare and a wellness allowance. Employees also receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure.
