This is a contract position spanning from October 2025 until October 2026.We offer an environment that encourages efficiency and supports progress within a growing independent company. You will have the opportunity to contribute to solutions that enhance the way people access important information, while also being part of a supportive and collaborative environment.Job DescriptionLead the design of interfaces and layouts that meet client goals and scope, user experience requirements and brand standards, and accessibility requirementsLead usability testing, including facilitating user testing sessions, contributing to documented analysis on client projects, writing scripts, and creating scenariosPresent design concepts and rationale in an engaging manner to clients to achieve buy-in and help communicate design decisions, providing alternative solutions for challenging client requestsParticipate in internal and client reviews, providing support to the project teamCollaborate with cross-functional teamsContribute to internal tasks and projectsRequirements5+ years of experience in a professional UX/UI design environmentExpert-level proficiency in Figma including prototypingWorking knowledge of Adobe Creative CloudExperience facilitating user testing sessions (or other UX research methods)Experience presenting designs, reports, and recommendations to clients and stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skillsPrevious work experience in municipal government or utilities sectorsAbility to manage multiple projects/tasks and to meet tight timelinesAn ambitious attitude, positive outlook, and friendly dispositionPost-secondary degree or diploma in a design-related field or equivalent practical experiencePreference may be given to candidates with any of the following:Experience using or designing for content management systems such as Drupal or WordPressExperience writing HTML and CSSFreelance work or agency experienceExperience with illustration, graphic design, and/or print layoutWorking knowledge of web accessibility and/or experience using assistive technologyWhat You Can ExpectFull-time, contract position, with health benefits starting after three monthsThree weeks of paid vacationCompensation of $35 to $42 per hour at 37.5 hours per weekWe are open to considering candidates who would like to work a minimum of 30 hours per weekA supportive hybrid work model: during your first three months, you'll work on-site full-time to get fully onboarded.
