OverviewJoin to apply for the Senior Quantity Surveyor role at WSP in Canada.What you can expect to do herePreparing quantities and cost estimates at concept and schematic design stages.Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates from the early design development stages to tender and construction-ready architectural, structural, and civil works drawings and specifications.Performing detailed review of contract specifications and drawings to identify errors, discrepancies and/or ambiguities which may impact estimate accuracy.Preparing a quantity variance report at various stages of cost planning and for bid analysis when required.Assisting in value engineering assignments.Completing peer reviews of external estimates and budgets and making recommendations as to format and accuracy.Supporting commercial and project management teams with cost analysis for delay claims and Change Order Requests.Maintaining current construction cost information using a combination of historical costs, market research, and construction cost indices.What you’ll bring to WSPBackground education / qualifications in a construction technology, architectural, structural, or civil engineering field.Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying and/or registration and professional designation with a recognized organization such as the CIQS or RICS.10 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm and/or general contracting organization with take-off and pricing from historic data or first-principles.Computer literacy and comfort with electronic measurement and estimate preparation using On-Screen Takeoff, RIB CostX, or similar; familiarity with extracting quantities from BIM models.Experience with calculation and application of General Conditions and General Requirements allowances, contingency, and escalation within cost plans and estimates.About UsWSP is one of the world\'s leading professional services firms.
