Our Staff for Staff Program and Workplace Wellness Committee organizes year round events and activities that help newcomers make social inroads and transition nicely into their new environment.Job Duties.Work within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario Nurse Practitioner StandardsPerform comprehensive health assessments within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner's roleFormulates and communicates medical diagnosesProvides acute and episodic careLiaise on and collaborate with families and community stakeholdersConsults with a physician in accordance with the standards for consultation with physicians, and/or refers the patient to another health care professionalRecommends and facilitates referrals to other services as well as communication and networking between the primary care practice and the hospital.Maintains relationships with networks, related professional organizations, and other related service providersThe Main Qualifications Of The Nurse Practitioner IncludeHold and maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the RN Extended Class.Function according to the Standards of Nursing Practice from the College of Nurses of Ontario and relevant legislations.Hold appropriate professional liability protection as per College of Nurses of Ontario requirementMust be committed to ongoing education.RequirementsDemonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of the Healthcare Team.Demonstrate skill in cultural safety, which encompasses cultural sensitivity, competency and humility.Problem solving skills and sound judgment.Effective written, verbal, and oral communication skills.Time management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and self-direct / take initiative.Ability to lead by example and to mentor and motivate others.Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of BehaviourProven attendance recordAble to perform the essential duties of the jobDemonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and RespectProof of COVID 19 VaccinationThis is a unionized position.
