Camp Supervisor Posting Id 3188 Number of Positions 1 Department Community Services Division Recreation and Culture Services Shift Monday to Friday Rate of Pay $19.23-$19.23Hourly Job Length/End Date June 1 - August 28, or September 4, 2026, if at Elgin West CC Job Type Temporary Part Time Posting Type Internal and External Posting Date 12/01/2025 Application Deadline 01/02/2026 Position Summary Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Camp Supervisor will plan and develop day‑to‑day programming and special events for a specific school holiday camp program. They will supervise the Camp Counsellors working in the program and provide ongoing direction, supervision and evaluations. The Camp Supervisor will assist the Program Coordinator and Camp Directors in establishing and implementing the annual orientation for Camp Counsellors. The Camp Supervisor will be responsible for ordering supplies and equipment and completing administrative duties. Key Duties and Responsibilities Develop the day‑to‑day programming for a specific Camp Program and Before and After Camp Program that meets the children’s age and developmental abilities. Modify camp programming to ensure campers with disabilities are able to participate in programs and be fully integrated into the camp setting. Ensure there are a variety of activities in the camp program that targets the specific genre of the camp. Develop resource material for the Camp Counsellors to assist them in delivering the various activities in the program. Provide ongoing supervision and evaluation of the Camp Counsellors. Ensure the Before and After Camp Supervisors have scheduled staff to work in the Before and After Camp Program. Ensure camp ratios are met at all times. Work with the Camp Volunteers to ensure they are included in the programs and have various responsibilities. Communicate and interact with participants and make everyone feel welcome Ensure campers safety and security throughout the day. Assist in the implementation of camp training Ensure the camp staff payroll is completed and submitted to the Camp Director in a timely manner Complete all necessary forms (accident, incident) in a timely and accurate manner. Represent the City of Richmond Hill by presenting yourself in a cooperative, organized, enthusiastic and well‑groomed manner. Report to work promptly. Wear assigned uniform and name tag. Attend scheduled staff meetings and staff training sessions. Know and understand the policies and procedures of the Community Services Department. Maintain excellent public relations at all time, with staff and the public. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma Standard First Aid and CPR C Certification High Five PHCD Certification Required Skills/Knowledge Background knowledge in program planning including crafts, music, sports and games. Experience working in the area of specialty that the camp focuses on. May be required to successfully complete the Lifesaving Society Swim to Survive standard Previous experience in a day camp setting, supervising staff and dealing directly with the public. Strong leadership, communication, organization and administrative skills. Ability to multi‑task.
