Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeCA$140,000.00/yr - CA$180,000.00/yrOverviewAs the Director of Information Technology, you will oversee the entire IT function, combining excellence in traditional operations—such as network infrastructure, help desk services, cybersecurity, and cloud management—with a mandate to lead the company into the next era of digital transformation. You will champion the adoption of modern systems, including AI tools and advanced analytics, to create competitive advantages across departments. With a team of four skilled professionals already in place, this role demands both hands-on leadership and strategic foresight. Reporting to the CFO, you will work in close partnership with the executive team to ensure IT initiatives support and accelerate our broader business objectives. This position is a foundational pillar in our evolving organizational design, critical to fostering innovation, agility, and operational excellence throughout the company.About MarconMarcon is a real estate company specializing in acquiring, developing, building and managing properties across Metro Vancouver. Marcon is committed to providing elevated experiences at every touch point between our people, our buildings, and our communities.Role ResponsibilitiesIT Strategy & Leadership: Develop and own the long-term IT roadmap aligned with corporate strategy. Serve as the internal thought leader on digital transformation, AI, automation, and business system modernization. Advise the executive team on technology trends and opportunities. Translate business needs into clear IT initiatives with measurable outcomes.Systems & Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee core infrastructure including networking, servers, cloud environments (e.g., Azure), user access, security, backups, and disaster recovery. Ensure cybersecurity policies and practices are effective and updated. Provide escalation support to the network admin and support teams. Support evaluation, selection, and deployment of enterprise platforms (ERP, CRM, project management tools, etc.).Data & Intelligence: Lead internal data science efforts, strengthen data architecture, governance, and real-time analytics delivery. Develop data infrastructure (data lake, integration hub, APIs, Power BI) for scalability and business relevance. Partner with FP&A to develop data-driven tools and predictive analytics for decision-making.AI & Emerging Technologies: Drive exploration, proof-of-concept, and adoption of AI tools across business units. Identify high-impact AI opportunities in project management, design, customer service, procurement, and HR. Ensure AI tools are user-friendly, secure, and well integrated.Team Development & Vendor Management: Lead, mentor, and grow the internal IT team. Hire, coach, and implement processes. Manage IT vendors and consultants, negotiate contracts, and ensure value from third-party services.Required10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Strong technical understanding of infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise systems.Demonstrated experience leading or implementing AI or automation projects in a business setting.Skilled in stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams.Proven leadership in high-trust, multidisciplinary environments.PreferredExperience in real estate development, construction, or related industries.Familiarity with Microsoft stack (Teams, Power BI, Azure, Office 365, SharePoint).Experience with data warehouse architecture, API strategy, and SaaS platforms.Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks.What We OfferMarcon is committed to building an inclusive, high-performance team culture guided by our Core Values of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, and Excellence.
