Sports Medicine Physician - The Institute of Human Mechanics, Toronto The Institute of Human Mechanics, led by world‑renowned sports medicine physician Dr. Anthony Galea, is seeking a Sports Medicine Physician to join our dynamic team. Our clinic is recognized globally for providing top‑of‑the‑line, evidence‑based care to elite athletes from all over the world, as well as individuals dealing with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Our two clinic locations within the Toronto area focus more on tertiary sports medicine, as opposed to primary care. We have a large referral base from Orthopaedic surgeons, Rheumatologists and Sports Medicine primary care centres. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, patient‑focused physician with expertise in sports injury management, musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound‑guided injections such as PRP and hyaluronic acid therapies, and spinal procedures under fluoroscopy. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside a team of experienced clinicians who are committed to delivering exceptional, personalized care. Candidates must hold a valid medical license and be in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Training or experience in sports medicine, orthopaedics or related fields is a requirement. A strong background in regenerative medicine or interventional procedures is considered an asset. The successful candidate will have the following: Bachelor of Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related degree (or equivalent experience) Resistance or Group Fitness Training Certification(s) – YMCA courses required within three months of hire; YMCA Canada Trainer certification within two years of hire Minimum two years’ experience in the field, and one-year supervisory experience CSEP CEP or CPT certificate preferred Current Standard First Aid with CPR‑C certification within the last 12 months Evidence of a cleared police security clearance including a vulnerable sector search Three professional references required What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary? The Health & Fitness Supervisor will: Hire, supervise, and train fitness and strength‑and‑conditioning staff and volunteers, including conducting certification observations Develop, control, and evaluate the adult programs budget and purchase equipment as required Provide direct hands‑on program delivery twice per week or as required to meet area needs Deliver YMCA/AFLCA leadership courses and support the roll‑out of new YMCA Canada courses Ensure excellent quality member service by identifying member needs and responding promptly Deliver the YMCA/AFLCA instructor role and represent the branch on association workgroups and task forces Perform facility duty‑manager shifts as required Support the general manager in ensuring a positive presence in the local community Provide shared leadership to the annual YMCA campaign Other qualities we look for include: developing self and others, building purposeful relationships, creating a culture of community, making intentional impact, thinking and acting strategically, applying business acumen, and innovating.
