To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at www.homesteadco-op.crs Job Summary Operating in a diverse and highly competitive retail environment, the Agro Manager provides overall leadership for Homestead Co‑op’s Agro Department, encompassing fertilizer, seed, chemicals, agro equipment, and agronomy services. This role is accountable for planning and executing the department’s day‑to‑day operations, ensuring all programs and initiatives align with budgeted goals, organizational objectives, and the vision of Homestead Co‑op. The Agro Manager fosters strong customer relationships while maintaining strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and operational policies, procedures, and standards. Some out‑of‑town travel may be required for seminars, conferences or competition checks. Responsibilities Lead the Agro Department’s day‑to‑day operations in a competitive retail environment Plan and execute department initiatives in alignment with budgeted goals and organizational objectives Maintain customer relationships and uphold safety, environmental, and operational standards Conduct out‑of‑town travel for seminars, conferences or competition checks as necessary Qualifications Degree or diploma in agriculture Ability to work independently and as part of a highly motivated team Excellent customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills 3‑5 years progressive and successful retail management experience Certifications and designations: Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), CCA/P.Ag., pesticide applicator and dealer licenses, seed treatment license, WHMIS certification, and other required regulatory credentials; willing to obtain or operate a forklift, skid steer, and Class 3 vehicles; First Aid certification is an asset Flexible work hours depending on seasonal demands Honesty, trustworthiness, results‑oriented, and a commitment to excellence Core Competencies Instills Trust – Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity and authenticity Builds Effective Teams – Building strong‑identity teams that apply diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals Business Insight – Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance organizational goals Optimizes Work Processes – Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement Benefits Homestead offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefit package and an employer‑matched pension plan.
