The incumbent will ensure applicable safety standards and practices are followed as the need arises to perform the job. Apply today Location\807 Pharmacy Ave; Scarborough, ON M1L 3K2 Hours of Work Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (with bi‑weekly on‑call) Salary $49.37/hour Responsibilities Plan and layout work assignments from complex blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions and accomplish these assignments with maximum efficiency. Preventive maintenance: inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, hydraulic and pneumatic electronic control systems and devices, and maintain accurate logs. Use MES when required (e.g., changing line status, reviewing and closing maintenance work orders). Provide training and direction to apprentices or helpers as needed. Know and apply all national, provincial and local codes that affect repair, maintenance, safety, construction and dismantling of machinery, equipment and structures. Collaborate with other departments in emergency situations, plant shutdown periods, and while machinery is not operating to restore equipment to operation in minimum time. Be available for after‑hours call duty twice a month or as mutually agreed. Participate in HSEMS initiatives, performing routine preventive maintenance checks. Dispose of chemicals in accordance with labels. Participate in 5S program and Energy Conservation Initiative. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Requirements Ontario (442A) or interprovincial (Red Seal) certification as an Industrial Electrician. Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset. Advanced proficiency in PLC systems and programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, etc.). Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical drawings and schematics. Understanding of mechanical systems, basic adjustments, and electromechanical troubleshooting collaboration. English communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of health and safety practices. Flexibility for bi‑weekly on‑call duty. Working Conditions Incumbent spends almost 100% of time in plant environment requiring moderate physical labor. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing and walking cover majority of work. Personal safety affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Significant sensory attention required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow bring considerable stresses to this position.
