We’re looking for a Research & Product Development Specialist to join our team and play a key role in bringing new products to life—safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance. This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves problem‑solving in the lab, collaborating across teams, and driving products from concept through formulation and production readiness. What You’ll Be Doing Execute assigned pre‑formulation and formulation lab activities to support new product development. Apply your expertise in formulation development, excipient compatibility, and data analysis. Perform and review chemical analysis on raw materials and bulk/finished products. Troubleshoot formulation challenges and contribute to timely, on‑track project delivery. Prepare clear, concise summary reports and present findings to management. Ensure full compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and documentation best practices. Jump in on additional projects as needed—no two days are the same. Prepare documentation related to corrective and preventative actions. Maintain R&D dry goods inventory and test sample storage. Build strong working relationships across teams to keep information flowing smoothly. Provide backup coverage for the Smokehouse team when needed. Support team initiatives and cross‑functional projects. Uphold all HACCP and SQF requirements and report food safety or quality concerns. Participate in and support HACCP/SQF training and compliance initiatives. Help guide others in maintaining department‑wide compliance. Work safely and in compliance with WorkSafe BC and company safety standards. Report injuries or safety concerns promptly. Actively participate in health and safety training and initiatives. What Sets You Up for Success Product development or food science background. R&D experience within meat manufacturing. Strong understanding of production processes and quality controls. Exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and food safety principles. Willingness to cross‑train and support the team as needed. Why Join Us?
