Today, more than ever, having the ability to interpret and understand what the data is saying about the state of the economy can have far reaching implications for consumers, businesses and governments alike. Leveraging unique and proprietary datasets, Cubeler is looking for an experienced senior economist to help the Company provide its clients with a weekly pulse of Canadian economic activity.Working with our data science and marketing teams, your role will be to study and interpret economic activity data. You will have access to daily datasets on Canadian private companies, including sales, cash balances, inventory levels, expenses and more, coming from various sectors of the Canadian economy, such as retail, construction, real estate and manufacturing, just to name a few. In addition to analyzing and interpreting the data, you will be asked to make forecasts and produce weekly reports to be made available to our clients.What You’ll DoAnalyze and interpret daily datasets received from the Cubeler business development platformConduct research and analyze economic data from external sources to understand trends and impactsDevelop economic models to forecast future economic conditionsEvaluate the effects of government policies, regulations, and external factors on economic performanceProduce weekly reports, using templates, to communicate findings to stakeholdersCollaborate with other professionals, such as statisticians and policy analysts, to gather data and develop comprehensive analysesStay updated on economic developments and relevant legislationWhat You’ll NeedMasters or Ph.D. in Economics or a related fieldStrong analytical and quantitative skillsProficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsBilingual (French/English)Ability to work independently and in teamsPreferred SkillsExperience in policy analysis or economic forecastingKnowledge of specific industries or sectors (e.g., retail, manufacturing)We OfferCompetitive compensation, including stock optionsHealth benefitsGroup RRSPPaid time off such as sick days and vacation daysOpen workspaceGym membership (Montreal)In-office (4 days) with work from home option (1 day)Tenet Fintech Group Inc. and its subsidiaries are an equal opportunity employer.
