Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and in executing various projects in the mining and metals, and energy sectors. Employment details Type of position: Regular Responsibilities Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with clients Listen to and meet high client expectations Help define the scope of projects and proposals Allocate tasks to technicians and drafters assigned to the project, review their work and assess the technical scope Be involved in commissioning Technical responsibilities Prepare plans and specifications as well as detailed engineering deliverables (P&IDs, layout drawings, I/O loop and motor control diagrams, lists of cables and instruments, installation details) Draft reports, plans and specifications, construction and purchasing estimates and calls for tender Prepare technical data sheets and select instruments (flow, pressure, level) and control valves Provide technical assistance during construction work (electrical/instrumentation) Perform inspections or technical surveys Help with programming PLCs, DCSs and operator interfaces Client service Interact with clients and provide technical support to the team in charge of business development Establish and maintain contact with clients Define client needs and identify new needs during projects Participate in commercial and technical proposal preparation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering or other relevant training Three or fewer years of relevant experience Member of a Canadian professional engineering association Experience in design, instrumentation and control Experience in programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) Available to travel to and from our BBA offices in the Greater Montréal area Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client locations or sites Asset: Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written Asset: Interest or relevant experience in automation and instrumentation, or participation in detailed engineering of a mining project in the energy sector Asset: Knowledge of ABB’s 800xA control platform Benefits Annual base salary Annual premium program for regular employees Access to a time bank Onsite mobility premium Cellphone Program Group insurance plan starting day one including short-term and long-term disability insurance for regular employees Retirement saving plan for regular employees Vacation and sick leave Premium offered through the Employee Referral program Salary is determined based on market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, and other relevant competencies.
