Agilus is recruiting for a Civil Design Engineer in the Civil Engineering Industry at Brampton and Whitby, ON location(s) .

Our client is a Canadian-owned multi-disciplinary company of engineers, planners and technologists that was established in 1987, and has been providing Consulting Services across GTA to clients including government, industry, architects, and developers. We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to design water distribution, storm and sanitary sewer, and road systems for residential and industrial subdivisions, municipal reconstruction projects and site plans and to provide related
plans.

Role: Design Engineer
Location(s): Brampton and Whitby, ON

Responsibilities:
Plans and organizes the design and drafting of engineering drawings for municipal servicing and road reconstruction projects, environmental assessments, etc., in accordance with Project Managers’ specifications and established work-hour budgets.
Provides input regarding design and drafting budgets for proposal preparation.
Calculates pipe sizes, drainage areas, road and area grades, distribution networks, appurtenances placement and earth work quantities. Makes revisions as instructed by the Project Manager and/or regulatory and municipal officials.
Assembles, assesses, and incorporates municipal design standards, utility layouts and related reference materials in preparing designs.
Directs assigned drafting staff in the production of drawings by providing conceptual sketches of designs and information on design elements and establishing work-hour budgets. Reviews and approves produced drawings prior to formal presentation.
Submits designs to regulatory and municipal approval officials, when directed.
Develops and maintains relationships with approval officials.
Prepares preliminary and detailed quality take offs and cost estimates for municipal servicing and road projects utilizing format/ software program prescribed by the municipality.
Prepares pre-engineering survey requirements through site visits.
Reports to project managers on project progress and costs.
Keeps project design records and files.
Performs related duties and tasks as assigned or required.

Successful candidates will have:
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in design of Municipal Servicing and Grading for Sub-divisions .
Experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
A Professional Engineers license or C.E.T. designation.
Possess a positive attitude towards the firm and their co-workers.
Works well individually and with others in a team environment.
Strong analytical skills and detail-orientation.
