Description As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will be a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing personal assistance to patients (clients or residents) who require short‑term or ongoing support. Tasks include: Supporting activities of daily living in accordance with patient care plans and facility policies. Assisting nurses with routine care such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety. Observing and reporting on patients’ mood, health, and wellbeing. Maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Communicating effectively with patients and health professionals. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active registration on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Proof of directory enrolment (confirmation letter). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP) certification. Valid non‑GDL driver’s licence and vehicle (for home care duties). Additional Required Qualifications: Nursing students in an approved Alberta nursing program with ≥100 practicum hours may be considered; must provide proof of qualification. Preferred Qualifications: Successful completion of a Medication Assistance Program (MAP).
