The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is reporting to the Board of Directors, responsible for the strategic leadership, operational strategies and management necessary to achieve the goals and direction of the NFP foundation. 


The CEO is responsible for leading a major fundraising campaign and the overall operational and financial management. Additional responsibilities include building and maintaining effective relationships between the foundation internal stakeholders, the Board of Directors, leadership team, staff and volunteers, including prospects and donors and the community at large. 


Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership

·      Provide inspirational leadership to a dedicated team, working in collaboration with the Board and staff.

·      Develop, propose, execute and report on strategies, plans, projects and programs that achieve the purpose and objectives of the Foundation.

·      Establish appropriate measures and indicators of progress and achievement of objectives.

·      Build effective relationships with foundation staff, contractors, board members, corporate members and volunteers.


Donor Relations and Fund Development

·      Build mutually respectful relationships with donors and prospects.

·      Regularly review and optimize donor relationship strategy.

·      Experienced leader in a large redevelopment campaign, in excess of $40 million.

·      Design and implement plans to obtain sufficient funds to support the work of the Foundation.

·      Participate in the cultivation of major gifts and the recognition of donors.


Operations and Administration

·      Direct all foundation administrative functions, including budgeting, banking, financial management and reporting, monitor financial sustainability

·      Working with the Board Chair and Board Treasurer establish appropriate measures and indicators to ensure monthly financial requirements are attained.

·      Ensure the endeavours of staff align with established policies and procedures and recognized best practices.


Support Board Governance and Direction

·      Develop and propose policies and procedures that ensure accountability, transparency and appropriate risk management.

·      Work with and support the effective operation of and governance by the Board through the Board Chair.



QUALIFICATIONS

·      University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience and education.

·      Demonstrated acumen in fundraising and leading major fundraising campaigns; and

·      Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) is advantageous

·      Experience working for Not-for-profit organizations

·      A strategic thinker who is able to assess options and actions based on trends and conditions in the environment, and the vision and values of the organization. A person of high integrity and transparency, the CEO will positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interests of the organization and its members.


Location: Simcoe County (hybrid work arrangement)

Compensation: Base $140-160 plus bonus and HOOPP
