Opportunity WSP is growing and has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Water, Wastewater, and Solid Waste Facilities Structural Team located in Thornhill, Ontario. As a Structural Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic structural team and dive into the intricate world of engineering analysis and designs on water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pumping stations, underground liquid retaining tanks, chambers, solid waste management facilities and other types of infrastructure facilities. You will also contribute to proposal pursuits, condition assessments, construction phase services, and project management at various levels as part of your overall portfolio of work. Why choose WSP? What you can expect to do here Create structural analysis and design models, engineering calculation spreadsheets, and hand calculations for structural components and the entire structure. Mark up analysis results to BIM modelers and drafters for project production by Bluebeam software or manual markups. Be involved in construction services, including shop drawing reviews, responding to RFIs, change‑order assessments, and on‑site inspections. Conduct site surveys, gather critical field data, and perform condition assessments of existing structures. Facilitate seamless collaboration between design and construction teams. Share your expertise with junior staff, fostering growth and development. Contribute or lead projects as the project manager, responsible for overall budget, schedule, stakeholder relationships, and project status reporting. Prepare for a dynamic role that may include additional duties as assigned. What you’ll bring to WSP A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. 7–10 years of relevant experience ideally in water and wastewater facility, solid waste facility structural designs in Ontario or across Canada. Be a Professional Engineer licensed in the Province of Ontario. Ability to work in collaboration and within a team working environment. Reliability and accountability to deliver on what was promised to the client. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including OBC2024, NBCC2020, CSA A23, ACI 350, etc. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Staad.Pro, S‑Frame, and CSI series. Basic knowledge of BIM360 and REVIT is required. Strong communication skills (verbal/written) to work on proposals, technical memoranda, and reports. Can work under pressure and perform interdisciplinary coordination and various stakeholders on a regular basis. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering would be preferred. Possession of an Ontario G Driver License would be preferred. Compensation BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $98,800 – $130,800MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100Atlantic Provinces & QC: $89,200 – $118,500 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
