Job Description

The Director of Finance will strategically support the VP of Finance in achieving growth objectives, improving, and implementing financial procedures aimed at enhancing and maintaining the company’s financial health.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the VP of Finance in all aspects of financial reporting needs, adhering to accounting rules and practices.
  • In collaboration with the VP of Finance, manage the budget, forecasts, and financial planning.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide annual budget projections and act as the guardian of cash flows while assessing financial risks and financing scenarios.
  • Design, implement, document, and support risk management solutions and strategies, particularly regarding interest rates of loan portfolios.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance to optimize the company's financial processes and improve the quality of financial data.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of financial simulation models and dashboards.
  • Ensure ongoing cash management (analyze cash flows and liquidity needs).
  • Consult, analyze, and define profitability standards for investment projects.
  • Advise and report to the VP of Finance on any critical trends regarding the company's financial performance.
  • Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting practices, and investment initiatives and propose modifications concerning processes, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions to the VP of Finance.
  • Develop recommendations, policies, and planning required to support the company's strategic decisions, all based on financial and economic models.
  • Be responsible for taxation. Prepare documents for tax returns.
  • Represent the company with banking institutions, auditors, tax and legal advisors, insurance companies, and various governmental financial agencies.
Qualifications
  • University degree with 10 years of experience in accounting/finance.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector (an asset).
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite.
  • Bilingualism French, English (an asset).
  • Good communicator, with a strong ability to work in a team.
  • Strategic planner and results-oriented.
  • Synthesis mindset, good judgment, analytical and decision-making ability.
  • Keen attention to detail, accuracy.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Must be able to manage multiple sensitive projects within deadlines and prioritize heavy workloads.
