Opportunity To manage a portfolio of loans to the highest industry standard with team members ensuring all terms of the commitment letter (including all supporting agreements) are performed by the borrower to the benefit of investors and responding to any reasonable borrower requests that are consistent with the terms of the commitment or are approved by the investor. How You Will Contribute Review and analyze portfolio statistics, including rent rolls, operating statements, and financial/net worth statements; make sound decisions and recommendations. Manage assigned high‑value mortgage portfolio proactively to ensure all required conditions for commercial mortgages are fulfilled and satisfy investors and CMHC. Leverage deep knowledge of commercial lending, including underwriting, commitment clauses, certificates of insurance, property insurance, and insurance claims. Review third‑party reports such as appraisals, environmental reports, and BCA reports. Perform independent analysis and provide recommendations/approvals on mortgage‑related property changes such as easements, severance of lots, property insurance changes, expropriations, penalty calculations, and undertakings. Provide first‑level review for approval processes. Interface effectively with borrowers, consultants, investors, and solicitors. Collaborate with internal departments such as Origination, Funding, Renewal, Default, and Investor Relations. Demonstrate excellent communication skills handling inquiries from investors, clients, consultants, and solicitors. Adhere to policy and procedures, service levels, and compliance. Mentor and lead by example. Apply problem‑solving skills to meet service standards. Manage time effectively and handle high volumes. Recommend and implement process improvements to build efficiencies. Prioritize and multi‑task with proven organizational skills. Complete special projects assigned by management. Ensure AML requirements are met where applicable. The Experience You Need Post‑secondary education and/or equivalent work experience (preferred).5–7 years of experience in financial services, mortgages, preferably in commercial mortgages. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (required). Bilingualism (English & French) is considered an asset. Working Environment & Physical Demands Office environment. Periods of high volume with tight timelines. Long periods of stationary sitting and repetitive use of keyboard and mouse. Long periods of screen viewing.
