The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026 or sooner if possible. SHSC is a fully affiliated hospital of the University of Toronto with over 1,300 beds, of which almost 700 are dedicated to acute care (including 128 intensive care beds). SHSC hosts Canada’s first and largest trauma program and a dynamic Emergency Department (ED). The Emergency & Trauma Radiology Division (ETRD) serves the ED and potentially admitted patients across specialty programs such as the Tory Trauma Program, Odette Cancer Program, Schulich Heart Program and Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program. Emergency radiologists will interpret a broad spectrum of acute conditions—including acute (poly‑) trauma, neurological emergencies (stroke), cardiovascular and thoracic emergencies, abdominal emergencies, and acute oncology complications—24/7 from a 6‑station reading room embedded in the ED. The division also manages a mix of acute care and outpatient studies during daytime hours. Responsibilities Provide interpretation of acute care imaging for the Emergency & Trauma Radiology Division, including overnight on‑call coverage. Participate in all areas of subspecialty emergency and trauma imaging. Report a mix of acute care and outpatient imaging studies from other divisions during daytime shifts. Act as a clinician‑teacher in Undergraduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, Residency, and Fellowship programs. Qualifications Eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Fellowship in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an international equivalent. Eligibility for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Year of dedicated fellowship training in Emergency and Trauma Radiology post‑residency, with sufficient experience to perform subspecialty work in Emergency and Trauma Imaging. Compensation Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Compensation is based on a fee‑for‑service model, with an estimated income range of $300,000–$500,000 per annum for a full‑time equivalent and opportunities for increased salary based on experience and academic credentials.
