Quality Leader, Clinical Quality and Safety Join to apply for the Quality Leader, Clinical Quality and Safety role at Vancouver Coastal Health. The salary range for this position is CAD $45.48/hr – CAD $65.38/hr. Reporting to the Director of Quality, Safety and Improvement, the Quality Leader supports VCH’s organizational and quality improvement strategic direction, providing expertise to clinical operations, corporate services and unit teams to improve safety, quality of care and patient experience. Responsibilities Quality Improvement Provide expert advice and support in preparation of organization-wide quality plans, ensuring consistency with strategic priorities and accreditation standards. Facilitate and coordinate organizational committees, improvement groups and operational/implementation groups. Support leaders and teams in identifying opportunities to enhance quality, safety and patient experience, and design and implement improvement strategies. Resolve problems or barriers to ensure project success. Identify information requirements and develop strategies to meet them. Research regional, provincial, national and international health care trends and innovations. Provide reports, analyses, recommendations and sustainment plans to teams, Director of Quality, and Senior Leadership Team. Maintain and apply knowledge of continuous quality improvement methods and tools. Coach and mentor staff in quality improvement principles, promoting staff involvement in decision‑making. Project and Change Management Apply project and change management expertise to advance strategic priorities. Ensure consistent application of change management practices across the organization. Monitor budgets and human resource needs for assigned projects. Identify risks associated with project duration. Education & Training Facilitate learning and deliver educational sessions aligned with quality improvement, change management, and integration of quality improvement. Coaching & Facilitation Provide coaching and facilitation to committees, planning groups and operational/implementation groups. Accreditation Support leaders in accreditation preparations and ensure compliance with standards. Collaboration Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to complete projects and initiatives. Collaborate with external stakeholders regionally and provincially. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Master’s degree in Health Services Administration, Science, Business Administration or related field, plus 3–5 years recent, related experience with quality improvement, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. At least 3 years experience applying continuous improvement methodologies to support process improvement and system redesign. Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (Model for Improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma), techniques and tools (process mapping, workflow diagrams, system monitoring and evaluation, PDSA cycles, data display with run and control charts). Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and ability to coach team members. Independent thinking and creative problem‑solving. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work under time pressure to meet deadlines. Physical ability to perform duties. All health care workers in publicly‑funded facilities are required to report past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Records will be requested as part of onboarding.
