Veterinary Extern

Overview Three Islands Veterinary Services is a small animal practice located in a beautiful small town nestled between two of the most scenic Kawartha Lakes. We are proud to have meaningful relationships with our clients. We specialize in dentistry and receive referrals from many clinics in our area. Responsibilities Gaining experience in gathering patient histories Performing physical exams Creating treatment plans Diagnostics and dentistry services Observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures Medical management of patients Practicing communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Externship Details Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Stipend and Program Details Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
