Nursing Clinical Manager - (14402) Sinai Health is looking for a Nursing Clinical Manager to provide onsite administrative leadership support after hours and on weekends. The role is located at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus. Job Type: Casual Relief Vacancy Type: New/Replacement Vacancy Organizational Department: Sinai Health -> Mount Sinai Hospital -> Patient Care and Nursing Employee Group: Non Union Location: Mount Sinai Hospital Campus - Toronto, ON M5G 1X5 CA (Primary) Hours (subject to change): N/A Salary Scale: CAD $60.53 - $75.69 per hour (2025 SH09) The role will facilitate the timely movement of admitted patients to the most appropriate in‑patient unit to meet their care needs. Working in collaboration with members of the on‑call team, managers, team leaders, infection control and members of the interdisciplinary team and physicians, the NCM will ensure that the organization is able to optimize bed utilization and assure a positive patient experience by supporting the right bed is assigned at the right time. The role provides general oversight to clinical operations to assure business continuity. This role will report to the Senior Clinical Program Director, Urgent and Critical Care. In addition to supporting patient flow and bed management, the NCM will assure standards of nursing practice are maintained, they will help support patient experience, address staffing issues and provide incident management leadership. In this role you will: Support and mentor staff nurses in critical thinking and decision making in clinical situations Provide administrative support to the Admitting Department on evenings/nights/weekends Co‑coordinate patient flow and access to beds across the three clinical program at Mount Sinai Hospital overnight and on weekends Manage staffing issues (reassignment of staff, instituting bed closures, etc.) Establish, promote and maintain good public relations and patient relations Communicate effectively using appropriate lines within the organization Collaborate with on‑call team members and program, unit, department leaders to manage risk Assume administrative on‑site responsibilities within the Incident Management System framework Liaise and escalatesituations as needed to the Administrator On‑Call Provides supervision and guidance in emergency situations (e.g. Code Yellow) Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required Job Requirements: Mandatory Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Preferred Master’s degree in nursing (MScN) Recent leadership experience and specialty certification Membership in professional nursing and other related organizations Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience Demonstrated leadership qualities and superior critical thinking and interpersonal skills Excellent decision making, problem recognition, problem solving skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to establish effective working relationships Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history Note: Applicants should be available for at least one shift per month If this sounds like you and you feel ready to build your career within nursing, apply now and let us know why you’d be a great addition to our team.
