Indigenous Educator, Harm Reduction Salary: $88,948 - $104,644 - $120,341 per year Contract: Temporary, 2‑year term Hours: 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9 am – 3 pm Monday—Friday) Location: North West BC, on ancestral territories of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation – hybrid working may be offered in line with FNHA’s flex work policy. Frequent travel to 55 First Nations communities across Northern BC. About the role As Indigenous Educator, Harm Reduction, you will deliver culturally sensitive harm‑reduction training, enhance overdose response skills, and build respectful relationships within communities, integrating local cultural protocols and traditions. You’ll develop accessible resources, implement initiatives, and create social media campaigns to raise awareness and reduce stigma, supporting a compassionate, authentic, and effective response. You will focus on developing and delivering the core curriculum of our Opioid Overdose Response educational model, including training on Naloxone, Indigenous Harm Reduction, Decolonizing Addiction, and Substance Use and Safety. About You Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Work, Clinical Psychology or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience: 3–5 years of recent, relevant, and significant experience in Indigenous harm reduction; experience working with Indigenous leadership, health professionals and communities. Knowledge: Trauma‑informed care/practice and intergenerational effects of colonization; Opioid Overdose Response in community or Indigenous Health contexts. Other requirements: Valid BC driver’s license. Pay Range: Minimum and maximum annual salary based on full‑time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience related to the role requirements.
