ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and monitor the activities of all electrical and preventative maintenance employees assigned.Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”Recommend solutions to problems related to the product or process, or to the quality system, and, when approved, participates in the implementation, management and verification of those solutionsProvide technical and tactical support to the Maintenance Team, Engineer, Production and Project Manager to maximize kiln efficiency and minimize unscheduled down timeParticipate in the identification of training needs for assigned plant maintenance personnel and coordinate trainingEnsure the execution of the daily maintenance plan to meet sales and production needs while maintaining efficient maintenance costs and explaining significant variances from the planRoutinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findingsPreparation and implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectivelyProvides leadership for improvements within the maintenance groupsEnsure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employeesParticipate in the daily morning production meeting to communicate with production and maintenanceActively participate in the weekly scheduling meeting between maintenance and productionAttend daily maintenance meetings, including safety talksEnsure a good understanding of the CMMS/SAP maintenance modulesEnsure personnel perform good quality work and provide feedback to each worker on progress in meetingcompany expectations and goalsProvide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals, and monitoring the safety program and its effectiveness to ensure a safe workplaceParticipate in appropriate safety training for all assigned employeesInterface with governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as requiredFollow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as neededEnsure preventative action is taken to avoid the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product or process or to the quality systemConsult and provide guidance for capital project development and executionSupervise garage and coordinate mobile equipment repair work as neededQualificationsRed Seal Industrial or Construction and Maintenance Electrician LicenseDegree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred7+ years industrial, electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; mechanical and PM experience a definite asset5+ years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment; industry background in heavy manufacturing related; mining, paper mills, steel plants, refining, utilities, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants industries preferredPositive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions; working knowledge of material handling feeders, convey or belt systems, and general knowledge pumping systems; experience in PLC or Wonderware troubleshooting a plusStrong computer skills; experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP and Microsoft Project experience is a plusStrong interpersonal/people skills; results driven; self-starter; able to initiate and be willing to hold others accountable for achieving company and site objectivesAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, and blueprintsAbility to write and communicate routine reports and correspondenceProven in leading operational excellence through applying behaviour based managementPrior experience demonstrating effective management skillsDemonstrable team work and maturity with a strong safety work ethicFluency in oral and written English #J-18808-Ljbffr
