Reporting to the Director, Operations, Commercial Insurance, the Senior Account Manager will be accountable for assisting Commercial Account Executives in the execution of sales strategies and plans.What You Will DoPromote cross department referrals for existing clients within the book of business to round out the accountExpand product offering to existing clients with multi-line approachAnnual account reviews to identify opportunities to make recommendations or coverage enhancementsManage renewal process including regular touch points with Commercial Account Executives and their team of Commercial Account RepresentativesObtain and review renewal updates with the client with support from Commercial Account RepresentativesDirect interaction with clients in support of Commercial Account Executive including presentation of renewal terms or upsell options where requiredWorking with Commercial Account Executive, negotiate terms on new and renewal opportunities for accounts not handled within the Commercial Brokering team, support Account Representatives/Brokering in new and renewal negotiations when requiredAssist in the preparation of insurance submissions, proposals and summaries of insurance where requiredAttend client site visits including loss control and in-person client meetings, with support of the Commercial Account ExecutiveSpear-head quarterly touch points with key clients to ensure service standards are being metManage contract reviews for clients to mitigate risk and make coverage recommendations where requiredMaintain knowledge of marketplace, products and industry trendsProvide support during Request for Proposal (RFP) process for accounts handled by Commercial Account ExecutiveSupport Commercial Account Executive in funnel management input within EPIC, Accounts Receivable management of book, and on client/carrier escalationsMeet retention goals within department or segmentBuild and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and clientsWork in collaboration with Marketing & Communications team to support RFP’s and other client facing materialsEnsure minimization of Cowan Insurance group Errors & Omissions (E&O) exposure through appropriate documentation of interactions with clients and follow all standard proceduresWhat You Will BringMinimum 5 years proven Commercial Insurance/Brokerage experience, professional sales management experience is preferredRegistered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) License is required, or willing to obtainHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCanadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, Canadian Risk Management (CRM), or working toward designations would be an assetBusiness minded with a passion for technical excellenceFinancial analysis skills would be an assetResults driven individual with a strong desire to win business and foster strong professional relationshipsYou love networking in community and industry association eventsStrong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, written and oralHigh level of self-motivation and organization skills, with the ability to perform effectively, with minimal supervisionHighly developed client management skillsAbility to travel is required (e.g. throughout Ontario)Alignment with the Company values of Integrity, Respect, Client Focused, Collaboration AccountabilityWho We AreProudly independent and Canadian-owned, Cowan Insurance Group has been a true market leader in the insurance industry since 1927.
