Transport Industry Business Development SpecialistOur client in the transport industry is looking for a senior Business Development Specialist with deep expertise in the Parcel shipping industry to help drive expansion of their business. This is a remote opportunity with the Head office located in Montreal. The company provides platforms that streamline operations, improve efficiency, and drive growth for businesses that require transport.The Senior Business Development Specialist will be a key leader responsible for identifying, developing, and closing strategic business opportunities within the transportation (parcel) sector. This role requires a blend of industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills to help propel the company to the forefront of innovation in the transportation space. Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of business strategies aimed at expanding presence in the transportation - Parcel industry, including fleet management, logistics, supply chain, and freight technology sectors. Identify new business opportunities with potential clients, partners, and strategic alliances within the transportation space. Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers to establish long-term partnerships. Utilize industry knowledge to provide insights into market trends, customer pain points, and emerging opportunities. Stay ahead of the curve on transportation and logistics technology advancements to offer innovative solutions to potential clients. Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent follow-up, progress tracking, and performance against business development targets. Report regularly on the progress of key opportunities and deals. Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment between business development and company goals. Provide valuable customer feedback to help shape product development. Lead negotiations with key stakeholders and ensure favorable contract terms that align with company objectives and customer needs. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of business development experience, with at least 2+ years focused specifically on the transportation industry (Parcel shipping) (e.g., logistics, fleet management, freight, supply chain). Strong understanding of the transportation sector’s challenges, trends, and technologies. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and engage with C-level executives, stakeholders, and industry leaders. (English primary and functional French) ZOOM INFO PAID as a strong tool Strong contract negotiation skills, with experience closing complex deals A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
