Position SummaryThis position may be based in any location within the Interior Health region. Interior Health is recruiting for a Medical Director for the new Williams Lake Urgent & Primary Care Centre slated to open in February 2025. The Medical Director, Williams Lake Urgent & Primary Care Centre (Urgent/Episodic) is a physician and leader who works to achieve a collaborative working relationship between physicians and administration based on the “One IH” culture and its objectives. While reporting to the Executive Medical Director, Primary and Community Care, the Medical Director will work within a collaborative framework to lead the development of professional standards, protocols and policies for medical care. The Medical Director is expected to actively provide clinical services under the Williams Lake Urgent & Primary Care Centre Group Clinical Service Contract for a minimum average of 4 hours per week during the Term of this Contract, in addition to the 3.75 hours per week as the Medical Director.ResponsibilitiesLead the development of professional standards, protocols and policies for medical care within the centre.Foster a collaborative relationship between physicians and administration based on the “One IH” culture.Provide clinical services for a minimum average of 4 hours per week during the term of the contract (in addition to 3.75 hours as Medical Director).Report to the Executive Medical Director, Primary and Community Care.QualificationsAppointed as an active or provisionally active member of the Medical Staff of Interior Health.Medical leadership experience with training in physician leadership or demonstrated willingness to undergo training in the near future.How to express interestTo express interest and apply, please email your Cover Letter and CV to physicianrecruitment@interiorhealth.ca.
